Gateway fees against your rate card (Pro)

Checks the fee your gateway kept against your rate card, order by order, with the rate it was checked against on each finding. Stripe with a read-only key; PayPal from the order or an exported statement.

Coupon and refund rules (Pro)

Single-use coupon reuse, a coupon on top of a sale price, and a refund larger than what was paid.

Tax, margin and stuck orders (Pro)

A tax class with no matching rate, a negative margin after cost of goods, and paid orders left on hold.

Every finding carries the order numbers behind it and the steps that stop the leak — in dollars. A rule that cannot prove its case stays silent.

The rate card

It will not name a fee it cannot prove you agreed to.

Your contracted rate can differ from the published gateway price. So until you confirm your contracted rates, the fee rules say nothing at all — an invented tariff would invent a leak on every store that ever negotiated one.

And one rule deliberately does not count. “Paid orders stuck on hold” runs in observe mode: it is listed as an observation, and the printable report shows the money apart as at risk. Neither counts in the leak total, because that money is already in your account. A total padded with money you already have is a sales trick, not an audit.

What needs Pro, credits or an outside service

Pro is a separate plugin under pro/; the free rules run without it.
Reading Stripe fees needs your own Stripe key.

What happens when the licence lapses

The licence transport has an explicit expired outcome; Pro rules stop and the free ruleset keeps running.
An expired licence is parsed as such rather than read as a network failure.
A lapse removes no findings: the table survives until uninstall, and even then the `pforge_keep_data_on_uninstall` option keeps it.

How long data is kept, and how you take it out

Uninstalling drops the findings table unless the option `pforge_keep_data_on_uninstall` is set to 1.
Pro exports a report as CSV.
Findings are kept indefinitely on a live site; the findings table is append-only and nothing prunes or expires old rows.

FAQ

What store owners ask first

Does my sales data leave the store?

No. The free plugin makes no outbound requests at all; the rules run on your server. The Pro add-on checks its licence and asks Avakode for updates, and, only if you give it a read-only Stripe key, reads your own Stripe statement to check fees. No order data is sent in either case.

What if my store is clean?

Then the report says zero — and that's the point. The rules are tuned on a golden corpus where a clean store produces no findings, so anything it does flag deserves attention.

How is this different from a reporting plugin?

Reports tell you what you earned. Profit Forge tells you where money went missing — a coupon that stacked, a refund that never restocked, an order paid twice and, with Pro, a fee above your rate card — with the orders behind each finding and the fix steps.

Will it work with my payment gateway?

The fee check is a Pro rule that compares what the gateway kept with your rate card. Stripe fees can be read with a read-only key; PayPal fees come from what the PayPal plugin records on the order or from a statement you export. The free rules work on any store.

Can I follow a leak from the finding to the fix?

Yes, in the free plugin. In WooCommerce → Profit Forge → Report, findings that share one cause are grouped into a case: you confirm it, and only then can you mark the date the cause was actually removed or record a refund. The next scan re-tests the orders placed after that date. The case says that the leak did not repeat on a given number of new orders, on which order it repeated, that there is not enough data yet, or that it could not check; “not repeated” says nothing about orders not yet placed. When money comes back you record the amount and a reference for it. Profit Forge records what you enter: it never writes to the gateway and never moves money.
